We are sorry to announce that we have taken the difficult decision to disband as a quartet. This has been a particularly sad decision as we are such good friends and have enormously enjoyed our music making together. Our final concert was for Bollington Chamber Concerts on 15th December 2007.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us over these last 7 years.

One of the most exciting ensembles to emerge in recent years, The McFarlane String Quartet brings together four eminent musicians who share a passion for the quartet repertoire. They have quickly earned a reputation for their distinctive and compelling interpretations and they regularly appear to enthusiastic acclaim.
 
The quartet members are: Clare McFarlane (Violin), Julia Hanson (Violin), Richard Williamson (Viola) and Christopher Hoyle ('Cello)
 
I had a chance to hear the McFarlane String Quartet recently in a ravishing performance of the “Quatuor” de Ravel in which they showed wonderfully refined and distinguished qualities in their playing.
